As we continue to remember #Manila1945, the Urban Roamer recently paid a visit to one of the few spots in the city that have served today to remember everything that was lost in the Battle of Manila in 1945: the Memorare Manila 1945 at the Plazuela de Santa Isabel in Intramuros, Manila.

A Shrine to People Power
Today, the country commemorates the anniversary of what is considered to be the one of the first nonviolent revolutions that has occurred in the history of humankind. I am referring to of course to the first People Power or EDSA Revolution, the four-day uprising which culminated this day in 1986 when the authoritarian rule of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos ended and a more democratic government was inaugurated with Pres. Corazon Aquino, widow of the assassinated anti-Marcos figure Sen. Benigno Aquino Jr., at the helm. The revolution would not have been possible without the efforts spearheaded by the Catholic Church at that time, particularly the efforts of the Archbishop of Manila, Jaime Cardinal…

Checked Out: 2015’s Pasinaya and Travel Tour Expo
It was such a busy weekend recently and it was not just because of the Valentine season. Two major events were happening that the Urban Roamer decided to check out in one day which was last February 15. A Trip South of Manila: Paradizoo and Residence Inn
Once in a while, the Urban Roamer makes it a point to get away from the urban jungle and explore some new place fora change. It was fortunate that I got to that recently thanks to the good folks at Zoomanity Group who provided this chance to go down south to two rising tourist destinations: Paradizoo in Mendez, Cavite and Residence Inn in nearby Tagaytay. Managed by the same people behind Zoobic Safari, not to mention the recently-visited Zoocobia, as can be expected in Paradizoo and Residence Inn, animals are the star here and much more to offer as well.
