    Hotel Le Monet Baguio

Being the “Summer Capital of the Philippines,” Baguio City has a fine choice of accommodations to choose as to where to stay in this literally cool city. Allow me to share one place for your consideration: the Le Monet Hotel. Located right inside Camp John Hay, Le Monet Hotel is named after the famed French impressionist painter Claude Monet. And like Monet’s art, Le Monet Hotel aims to treat its guests with beautiful sights, in this case, the green, cool landscape of Camp John Hay and Baguio City in general. And being within Camp John Hay, guests can readily check out the outdoor activities and the nearby sights such as the butterfly…

Casa Real at Acacia Estates: A Piece of Old Manila in New Taguig

Located in the developing city of Taguig near the old sprawling military complex of Fort Bonifacio, Acacia Estates is a massive development project of DMCI. Yup, that same DMCI who’s behind that monstrosity near Rizal Park that sticking out like an ugly sore thumb. The Urban Roamer missed this lecture, but thankfully the Ortigas Foundation Library has uploaded the full lecture online. The talk itself is informative enough to check out as one can at…

Remembering Manila1945 at the Ayala Museum

Truth be told, it has been a crazy period lately for the Urban Roamer. With so much going on, it is unfortunate that I could not get to attend some events that were being held, or could not get to hang out long enough to check out some events up close. It is especially unfortunate especially that so many events and exhibits have been going on around the metropolis on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Manila. But as the commemoration of #Manila1945 draws to a close, I could not miss out at least one exhibit about it, which in this case would be the exhibit at…
