The original intent of Line 3 in EDSA was for it t The original intent of Line 3 in EDSA was for it to go all the way to Monumento as a future extension, the same way Line 2 was supposed to be extended to Masinag and North Harbor on both ends. However it was stalled for many years until the administration of PGMA decided to have Line 1 extended instead to North Avenue. Even so, it would take more years before Lines 1 and 3 would be truly connected with the construction of North Avenue Common Station
